Singapore: SAT helps check Employment Pass and S Pass qualifications

Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is launching an enhanced Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) to help employers and employment agents evaluate if the candidate qualifies for an Employment Pass (EP) or S Pass before application or renewal.

This free tool uses salary, educational qualifications, and work experience to generate a result. An EP eService (formerly EP Online) account is required too.

It will be available starting 1 August 2023 and provides an indicative outcome, including Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS) scores for EP.

Unfortunately, the results from this tool do not guarantee the actual outcome of the application as it doesn’t assess criteria such as quota for S Pass and the candidate’s history.

That being said, MOM is encouraging that SAT is to be used for EP applications that will be submitted from 1 September 2023 onwards.
