Amendments to Temporary Work and Seasonal Visa Regulations in Saudi Arabia

Starting in early 2025, Saudi Arabia will implement changes to the Temporary Work Visa and Seasonal Visa regulations, impacting duration of stay and entry conditions.

Key Details:
  • Temporary Work Visa: Duration will be reduced from 180 days to 90 days, with an option for an additional 90-day extension.
  • Seasonal Visa for Umrah and Hajj Services: Visa holders may enter and stay only within specified dates during the pilgrimage season, with a maximum duration of four months.
  • Eligibility: Seasonal Visa eligibility will be limited to nationals from specific countries.
  • Coordination and Timeframes: The amended regulations also establish close coordination between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and other government agencies, setting specific timeframes for approvals and recommendations in the visa process.
  • Increased Penalties: Penalties for visa violations will increase, starting at SAR 5,000 for minor infractions and up to SAR 50,000 for severe violations.
